March 14, 2020

The staff and lay leadership of Lilburn First Baptist have made the difficult decision to move to online worship only in lieu of our normal in-person Sunday School and Worship Service for this Sunday, March 15. Our leadership will be meeting to make decisions about future worship gatherings as we continue to get updates from the governor and the CDC and will relay those to you as soon as possible.

Join us this week for online worship at 10:30am via our Live Stream on Facebook. You can watch the Live Stream here: https://www.facebook.com/FirstBaptistLilburn. If you “Like” LFBC’s Facebook page, it will make it easier to be notified when the broadcast starts. If you miss the start of the live broadcast, you can tune in at any point (or drag the slider at the bottom of the video all the way to the left in order to watch from the beginning), or you can watch a recording of the sermon later. Recordings of each Sunday’s sermon are available almost immediately after the service ends on Facebook; they can be found in the Videos section. You can view the stream and recordings even if you don’t have a Facebook account.

Please be fervent in prayer both for your staff and leadership as decisions are made and for the many greatly impacted by COVID-19.

Wednesday Services and Other Activities
Starting this Monday, March 16, ALL ministry programs and events, with the exception of our Sunday morning Worship Gatherings, will be suspended until Monday, April 13 or until further notice. While more details are still to come, this means ongoing weekday small groups, prayer groups, discipleship classes, ESL and Citizenship classes, youth and children’s activities, the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Festival of Nations, Good Friday Service, and Wednesday night services will be temporarily suspended. We will keep you informed as events are rescheduled.

We’re working on compiling a list of resources that small groups will be able to utilize to meet virtually while we are not meeting together physically. We will send out this list and detailed instructions for use as soon as possible.

Women’s Retreat
The Women’s Retreat for April 3-4 has been cancelled. Refunds will be issued for women who have already paid. There will also be an email going out early next week with more details about a future date and other information.

Language Congregations
We will be having direct conversations with the Language Church leadership concerning their course of action going forward. More details to come.

Lilburn Christian Preschool
Lilburn Christian Preschool is following Gwinnett County Public Schools guidelines for school closures and as such, will be closed March 16-19. We will continue to post updates about any additional school closures through the Lilburn Christian Preschool Facebook page.

Church Office
The church office will continue to be open 8 AM-5 PM Monday-Thursday. Our staff and deacons are ready to engage all church members to ensure member care and to attend to the physical, administrative, financial, and spiritual needs of our church family.
