Senior Adults
“The Son Shiners”
As a group, we hope to build strong our connection to each other as individuals and build our faith in Christ as we serve the body of Christ through our church and community; always inviting others to join us and to leaving no senior behind.
It is our desire to have others see the Son shine through us in word and deed.
Sunday School & Worship
We meet together to study God’s word weekly at 9:15a on Sunday. Come explore the Bible with us. Click here to find a group. Following this time we have an uplifting time of worship and praise together in our sanctuary, 10:30a.
Mid-Week
Join us each Wednesday evening at 6:30p for a time of prayer and a lesson from God’s Word presented by our pastor, T.J. Bennett. Meeting in the Fellowship Hall.
Luncheons
Our group enjoys meals together in the church Fellowship Hall.
Covered dish lunch: There is no cost for these luncheons; however, we ask that you bring a dish to share to feed several. These meetings are held at 12 noon and often include a musical guest and/or speaker.

Day Trips
A day trip to local places of interest may be planned each year. There will be a slight charge to cover the trip costs and lunch. Information about upcoming day trips goes out in our newsletter and weekly worship guide. (Get on the list here!)
Missions
There are always plenty of local mission projects for us to help with, such as making quilts for the homeless shelters, hurricane victims, and others in need; being helping hands for our children and student ministries (like VBS, Fine Arts Camp, and Wednesday Night activities); assembling packages for Operation Christmas Child; gathering food for our local co-op; other community event outreaches; and more.
In addition to these events planned especially for our seniors, you may also participate in church-wide events, men’s ministry or women’s ministry events, churchwide Precept Bible Studies, and more.
We are never too old to share Jesus or to volunteer our time and talents to serve where needed.
“… and let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate each other to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another and all the more as we see the day drawing near.”
Hebrews 10: 23-25
We welcome you to join us.
